What is HIRE VETS NOW?

Virginia’s HIRE VETS NOW is a statewide initiative that connects transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses with employers for career networking, professional development, and job exploration. See examples of upcoming events here. 

Launched in 2018, the program helps bridge the gap between military service and civilian careers by hosting monthly, in-person networking events on military installations across Virginia.

HIRE VETS NOW events are hosted in partnership with the installation TAP Offices, the Virginia Department of Veterans Services, and the Virginia Chamber Foundation.

Why Should Employers Participate?

These events allow employers to:

  • Meet military-connected talent before separation

  • Build relationships with service members, veterans, and spouses

  • Promote career opportunities in an informal, on-base setting

  • Grow brand awareness within the military community

Necessary Steps:

  1. Companies are strongly recommended to be certified under the Commonwealth’s Virginia Values Veterans (V3) program.
  2. Submit a request to receive an invitation to HIRE VETS NOW events.
  3. Notifications with registration steps will be sent if space is available. Please note, this is a first-come, first-served event.

Important Information:

No Cost to Attend: Participation is free for V3 employers.

First-Come, First-Served: Tables at events fill quickly, so be sure to register early.

  • Naval Station Norfolk
  • NAS Oceana
  • Fort Eustis
  • Langley AFB
  • Fort Gregg-Adams
  • Fort Belvoir
  • MCB Quantico
  • Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall
